Sustainability
Fewer pieces. Finer cloth. Longer life.
Sustainability at Ban Atelier is not a department — it is the shape of how we work. Small collections, slow hands, and a refusal to produce what will not be worn.
01
Made in small runs
Every silhouette is cut in limited numbers. When a piece sells through, we restock only if quality and material supply allow — never to chase a trend.
02
Materials we choose
Woven crepes from long-standing Japanese and Italian mills, OEKO-TEX certified linings, recycled-content packaging, and metal hardware finished without electroplating wherever possible.
03
Care, repair, alter
Every Ban Atelier piece may be returned to the atelier for repair or alteration at any point in its life. We would always rather mend than replace.
04
The hands behind the cloth
Our tailors are full-time members of the atelier with fair wages, paid leave and steady commissions. Slow craft only works when the people behind it are looked after.
05
Where we still have work to do
We are not perfect. Air-freight remains the fastest way to honour delivery promises, and we are working to consolidate shipments and offset what we cannot yet remove.
